2008.04.22 Andrew Reid Needless to say we are WMC veterans. 11 years of pounding the pavement at the annual Winter Music Conference in normally sunny South Beach is testament to that. So this year, we decided to focus our Essential WMC tour on quality over quantity. Defected, MN2S, SAW, Pacha, Ultra, Om, Buzzin Fly, Toolroom... these names draw instant respect within our music industry and without prejudice or inhibitions we tackled them all and lived to tell. Setting up our base of operations in the not-so-glamourous-on-the- inside Shelborne Hotelwe at the very least had immediately access to a slew of incredible events. 2008.03.26 Yousef's acclaimed British club brand and forthcoming record label hosted a little "best of Britain" soiree at Suite. With a lineup boasting Nic Fanciulli, Radio Slave, D Ramirez, and of course Yos himself... ::: Photos + Review	2008.03.26 After checking out some great UK beats at Circus, we headed back over to the base camp and into Shine for SAW Recordings' annual WMC soiree. 2008.03.26 We kick start our 4 part bonus WMC coverage with Erick Morillo's seminal WMC event Subliminal Sessions returned to the Cameo theatre for 2008. Joined by Harry Romero, Tom Novy, Felix da Housecat, Jose Nunez and more, Mr. Morillo tore it up once again. With a special appearance by Diddy and tons of dance music luminaries in attendance, it was one of the must do events of the year... ::: Photos + Review	2008.03.26 It's Morillo, it's the Space Terrace... do we really need to say more? After rocking the thousands at Cameo for Subliminal Sessions, Erick couldn't resist making an annual WMC appearance at Space on the famous terrace. ::: 3.1 Juicy Beach @ Nikki Beach	::: 3.2 Vital Talent Party @ Gansevoort Hotel
2008.03.27 It's our third day at WMC, and so far we couldn't have wished for a better start. With great anticipation we set out into the beaming sunshine for one of the annual pinnacle events of this week... Robbie Rivera's Juicy Beach party at famed Nikki Beach. After getting Martijn Ten Velden to latch onto our troop, we sped down to the foot of Ocean Drive and prepared for what is always a pain-in-the-ass entry to Nikki Beach... ::: Photos + Review	2008.03.27 After getting scorched at Nikki Beach, we headed up to the beautiful new Gansevoort Hotel and it's posh rooftop patio for a little VIP event hosted by those fine folks at Vital Talent. Hobnobbing with the likes of Roger Sanchez and the crew from Stealth, Tom Stephan, Trent Cantrelle, Kenneth Thomas, and our motley crew from Juicy Beach we did the schmooze thing while Sean Miller and Laidback Luke provided a great soundtrack with amazing panoramic views... ::: Photos + Review
::: 3.3 Om @ Karu & Y	::: 3.4 Buzzin Fly @ Shine
2008.03.27 For night three it was off to our friends from San Francisco's bash, namely the Om Records party. For the second year, the notorious house imprint from the left-coast was hosting their MASSIVE event at the gorgeous Karu & Y. Boasting a river surrounding the outdoor main terrace and four other rooms of sound each uniquely decorated, this year's event promised to be bigger and better than ever... ::: Photos + Review	2008.03.27 The beauty of staying at the Shelborne all week was that it was easy for us to catch some late night beats from some great events. This night it was Ben Watt's Buzzin Fly imprint's event and as we rolled into the venue, the main man was in charge of the decks and rocking a proper blend of house music for mature palettes... ::: Photos + Review
::: 4.1 Pacha Ibiza @ Shelborne Hotel	::: 4.2 MN2S @ Opium Garden
2008.03.28 The epitome of clubbing brands in the world, PACHA debuted their first annual Pacha Miami Music Festival at this year's WMC. Featuring an all-star lineup of DJs including Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Sander Kleinenberg, Sarah Main, Kurd Maverick, Fedde le Grand, and more this was one of the most anticipated daytime events of the conference... ::: Photos + Review	2008.03.28 For the past few years UK promoters, DJ agency, and bad ass record label MN2S have been growing their global empire. We've seen this translate into one of the biggest and craziest WMC events each year, and the 2008 edition of MN2S WMC was on par... ::: Photos + Review
::: 5.1 Ultra Music Festival	::: 5.2 Toolroom Knights @ Suite
2008.03.29 This is the big one... literally! Over 40,000 people per day for the 2 day massive Ultra Music Festical descended on Miami's Bayfront Park for an incredible lineup of top notch international talent. Erick Morillo, Carl Cox, David Guetta, Pete Tong, Sasha & Digweed, DJ Dan & Donald Glaude, Dirty South, Moby... while we only made it for Day 2, we caught some of the most memorable action without a doubt... ::: Photos + Review	2008.03.29 Capping off our glorious week in sun filled South Beach was one of our most anticipated events of the conference. 2008.03.29 Roger Sanchez's Stealth imprint held it's annual get together for the who's who of dance music and featured an incredible line-up of the label's stable of producers. Eddie Thoneick, Funkerman, Tom Stephan, Laidback Luke, Jesse Garcia, Austin Leeds, Nick Terranova, Prok & Fitch, Midnight Society and of course Roger himself. Packed into the tiny and posh Mynt Nightclub beside our favourite gyros spot in South Beach, the room was full to the brim with industry heavyweights and beautiful people... ::: Photos + Review	2008.03.29 It's your birthday... we're gonna party like it's your birthday! Okay, cheesy quote, but hey this was a sweet event as Nocturnal was allowed access to the ultra DL, ultra exclusive birthday event for none other the house music icon Erick Morillo... ::: Photos + Review

Holland’s beloved house music-loving homeboy, Laidback Luke, is on an international mission to rock clubs, win hearts and top charts. A producer and DJ with immense talent, tonnes of spirit and a steely determination to succeed, he has been on a worldwide search for the ultimate in dance floor energy since the mid-1990s. “Music is an amazing tool that can evoke powerful memories and emotions,” says Luke with a smile. “And I will not rest until I’ve given my best: I want to share as much music as possible with as many people as possible.” And with an incredibly impressive discography of 100+ recordings and a DJ diary that takes him from his studio near Amsterdam to clubs all over the world, it would seem that Luke is well on the way to achieve his goals...

Seamus Haji is a lucky guy. With over 20 years experience in the business he looks great, he has his own record label, enjoys being able to travel around the world doing international DJ dates. He is also the guy credited for pioneering the now universally acknowledged ‘electro house’ sound with ‘Last Night a DJ Saved My Life’, as sound that totally rejuvenated house. It was also Seamus who was behind the chart success of Booty Luv, remixing their unforgettable pop smash ‘Boogie Tonight’ a track so big that that no one in dance music could hide from it!. Here Seamus gives his personal insight into the world of Dance music...
