 ::: Ben Watt Interview Ben Watt is still best-known as half of the duo Everything but the Girl, which first performed together in 1982. That year, EBTG's Tracey Thorn released her solo debut, A Distant Shore, while Watt released his, North Marine Drive, the following year. Watt's LP went to number one on the U.K. indie charts and included a cover of Bob Dylan's "You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go." Everything but the Girl's early material was lite-jazz, but their major international breakthrough came in the dance music genre with Todd Terry's 1995 remix of the song "Missing," which originally appeared on the album Amplified Heart... ::: Read the Interview |

For the past few years UK promoters, DJ agency, and bad ass record label MN2S have been growing their global empire. We've seen this translate into one of the biggest and craziest WMC events each year, and the 2008 edition of MN2S WMC was on par. Taking over all 4 areas of the lush Opium Garden, the night featured a who's who of house music afficianados. Fedde le Grand, Mark Farina, Todd Terry, Martin Solveig, Jamie Lewis, Brian Tappert, Joey Negro, DJ Heather, Antoine Clamaran, Eddie Thoneick, Tedd Patterson, Ian Pooley and more all turned out various degrees of proper house music. From jacking to soulful, the crowd over well over 1500 had their choice of genres, and all would be the upmost quality. Even a busted ankle by our one and only Simon Jain couldn't keep a good thing down as Fedde le Grand ripped up the main room. MN2S always do it right, and for 2009 they've set the bar very high with the 08 edition! This was and continues to be one of the marquee WMC events and should be a not miss every year.
