Canadian house heads Eyezcream entertainment were hosting a bash down at Nikki Beach, which boasted the likes of Antoine Clamaran, DJ Dan and our very own Hatiras to name a few. But our luck was going far too well, and it was only a matter of time before the South Beach attitude reared its ugly head. Enter the door staff at Nikki Beach on this Sunday night. Unlike the courteous and smiling gentlemen we were greeted with just days before at the same venue for Wet Grooves, tonight's assortment of doormen were strictly in pissed-off-monkey-mode. So, after well over an hour of haggling and pleading our very legitimate entry concerns we gave up on our attempts for this party and headed over to Klub for a little low key action from some out of the way talent. SOUL Mgmt Recordings were hosting a label showcase packed with DJs that most of you in North America probably wouldn't recognize. As only a fraction of the club was actually filled we decided to situate ourselves out on the back patio, where to our delight was formidable DJ/producer Sharam Jey. Utilizing a blend of house and bumpier tech-house selections, Sharam was apt at keeping the dance floor moving. The programming was a bit spotty, but the tracks were absolutely incredible, including some of his forthcoming and current releases… perfect for the ever growing crowd that were there hiding in the back. Much to the delight of one of our crew, the next man on was DJ/producer Dr. Kucho. Known for his multitude of remixes and productions we were all very curious as to his DJing as is never on our side of the pond. Not to disappoint us he did the deed and laid it down proper. Overcoming the low DJ setup, it was much easier for him to sit then stand as he played, but nevertheless he kept the beats rocking and the small but enthusiastic crowd fully energized. There truly is nothing like dancing outside and once again we were reminded that we need more events of the fresh air variety that showcase electronic music. It’s just simply amazing to here it under a star lit sky; simply amazing. At the end of every days adventure we are blessed that in a place like South Beach, everything is so centralized you can walk home and take it all. There is much to reflect on and even more to try and remember. "Let us dance to forget, let us dance to remember".
::: Bob Sinclar Interview
House Master is a title which many can claim but few can justify. Bob Sinclar, the unashamedly hedonistic alter-ego of Chris Le Friant, has become a worldwide phenomenon since his creation in 1997. With uplifting music that has a clear focus on unity and enjoyment, he has produced some of the most popular and memorable dance tracks of the last decade. In this respect, Bob Sinclar has definitively set himself aside from his peers. Now, 20 of his finest club productions and remixes are available unmixed across 2 CD’s, giving you another chance to enjoy the infectious passion of house music as only Bob can provide... ::: Read the Interview
